Rescuers Find Two Eagles Tangled Together In Tree After A Mid-Air Fight

Wildlife rescue volunteers helped free two eagles spotted hanging upside down from a tree in Chilliwack on New Year’s Day.

When these gorgeous birds come into danger or are harmed, there are people who will work tirelessly to help them, whether that means giving them a brand new beak, or working high up in the treetops to untangle them when they are stuck.

When The Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation was called to help out a bald eagle who was stuck in a tree, they quickly found out that the reason the bird was stuck that another eagle had trapped him there after a mid-air fight. Thankfully, with a little help from some bystanders, Ben was able to free the eagle.

The Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society is a non-profit organization whose volunteers are dedicated to public education and the rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned birds. O.W.L.was the proud recipient of the 1990 Minister’s Environmental Award in recognition of outstanding achievement in the protection and enhancement of the British Columbia environment.

“Right now it’s getting close to their mating time and they’re very territorial and if one eagle approaches onto another nest, the other will fight,”
